Safety Field Technician Offer Letter
We are pleased to offer you the contracted Safety Field Technician position through the Carpenters Union. As part of your position obligations, you are required to sign on with the Carpenters Union, Local #1256. You will report to the Field Supervisor on-site.
The position is for a Safety Field Technician responsible for ensuring onsite safety by conducting safety assessments, performing safety tests, and monitoring air quality. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with site-specific safety regulations, performing spark watch, bottle watch, and safety watch duties, and acting as an emergency responder when required. The technician will also identify potential safety hazards, implement preventative measures, and maintain all necessary health and safety records. The role requires strong observational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the stamina to stay alert throughout long shifts in high-risk environments
Your employment is contingent upon successfully completing required training provided by the Carpenters Union and Sentry Fire Protection Services, which includes certifications such as Basic Safety Orientation, Confined Space Attendant, Working at Heights, WHMIS, AODA, and Site-Specific Training. Additionally, you must provide a valid criminal police check. As this process may take time, you are required to submit a receipt of your application as proof of submission.
Your date of hire will depend on the completion of training. You will be contacted by the Carpenters Union for training times and dates. The orientation will be held at the Sentry Fire Office, and we will be in contact with you to confirm your orientation date.
This offer is based on performance and available work contracted to Sentry Fire, with hours fluctuating depending on work requirements. You will be compensated with an hourly field rate of $29.36. Pay will vary based on work location, overtime, weekends, and other factors. For overtime, you will receive time-and-a-half hours worked over 8 hours Monday to Friday and for work on Saturdays. Work on Sundays will be compensated for double time, and there is also a night-time premium for qualifying hours.
